Do not have your bike serviced here. I asked them to service my wheels on a bike I bought from them. I asked for new rim tape, and new tubes on both wheels. They charged me for it, and it was never done. I only found out because I got a flat and was going to change the tire and noticed that my patches from before the service were still on the wheels and tubes (which they reused). I'm very disappointed because I spent a lot of money on a service that was not performed. Pictures attached of the wheels after they supposedly replaced the rim tape and tubes on both my front and back wheel. I'll do my own work going forward, or use a different LBS.

The folks at ACE are fantastic. I refuse to learn how to fix my own flats and they, without fail, have me in and out in minutes. They are also super nice which I feel is rare for bike shops these days. I trust them with my baby for flat fixes and tune-ups.

I just bought a Cannondale road bike from Ace Wheelworks in Somerville. The team at Ace Wheelworks is hard working, honest, professional, knowledgeable and they care about bicycles and their customers. The price tag on the bike was listed at 3700 in the shop and Cannondale was miraculously discounting their aluminum bikes so after the test ride when i said i wanted to buy the bike they were like “do you know how much it costs?” I was ready to get the bike at full retail and they’re like “not today!” and sold me the bike for $2700. They also made sure to tell me a couple times that i could bring the bike back for a free tuneup within 9 months of purchase. The vibe in the shop was very chill and friendly. The mechanics and sales staff and (i think this was the shop owner) were happy to chat with customers as they walked in and i could see that everyone felt welcome.

Highly recommend! Amazing customer service - I took in my bike to to get it packed and shipped to California, but in the mess of the move, forgot to send them a shipping label. They kept my bike in their warehouse for 5 months until I finally got my life figured out 🙏 I was sure it would have been sold or gotten rid of by the time I circled - so thrilled that they kept it stored.

STAY AWAY FROM WHEELWORKS My employee, who commutes with an ebike arrived at work with a flat tire. Wheelworks was right around the corner, so I brought the bike there. When arriving, I was told it was company policy to not work on ebikes not purchased there and they could not repair the tire. Three guys standing around doing nothing and they couldn't give a damn. I was shown the door. IT WAS ONLY A FLAT TIRE!! Back at the job site, my collogues and I removed the tube with the wheel still on the bike, patched the pinhole leak, inflated the tire, and my employee was back on the road. Wheelworks is an Uppity shop with people who don't care. There are plenty of other shops with employees who can help/service your bikes.
