Darn it- the Bike Lair was our secret. Like my favorite powder run or like a favorite fishing spot, one doesn’t want everyone to know or they might ruin it. But Dan is a caring and competent mechanic and maybe more importantly a nice man and a bike whisperer. And now he’s on Google Maps

Dan saved the day for me when I got my second flat on my long ride. He helped me get my tire repaired and gave me some great advice for my bike. He knows his bikes better than anyone in Seattle and I’ll be going to him for future repairs.

Dan runs the only bike service on Mercer island. He was a lifesaver when I had a bad flat, but it also gave me an opportunity to share the treasure trove of his experience in the bike industry. He clearly loves bikes -- he's the founder of Maxxis tires and a prolific inventor. And he's the kindest, sweetest soul I've come across in a bike shop.
