This nonprofit shop has an awesome selection of adult and kid-sized used bikes for sale, at the lowest prices I found in Madison! Lots of entry-level to mid-level road bikes, commuters, and mountain bikes-- all tuned up and ready to ride away. I love that the money I paid for a used bike supports their mission to give bikes away to others who need them. Awesome shop!

I feel like a kid in candy store every time I come here!! Something about old vintage bikes and they do have a collection. They also have some fairly new bikes but regardless of preference, they probably have something for you. Great pricing on used quality bikes and bike repairs..This is a great place to volunteer too because everyone is so passionate about the end result...removing barriers to bike ownership.

Bikes for Kids Wisconsin is an incredible organization aimed at providing bikes as means of transportation and recreation for financially-challanged kids and adults. It is also an excellent bike repair shop staffed by experienced mechanics along with bike gear and new and used bike parts for DYI repairs. Want to purchase a bike? The warehouse is full of reconditioned or 'ready to be reconditioned' bikes for sale for every cyclist. I like vintage steel bikes and had a 1980's vintage Trek in pieces. Not having the skills to build it myself, and after a recommendation from a friend, I took it to the Bikes for Kids WI bike shop to see what they could do. They took the frame, wheels and a box of components and turned it into the bike I ride daily...and it looks and rides great! Their mechanics are very knowledgable and great folks to boot. I couldn't be happier, and consider them my go-to bike shop now. Can't recommend them enough!

This non-profit has a great core of regular volunteers that are awesome to work with and learn from. They give bikes to all people because people need transportation to get to school, work, events, and to access services. There are all different types of bikes and sizes for people that are given away once a year to under-served communities. In addition, they have bikes for sale if you are looking to buy a bike for yourself.
