Jay’s Cycles is a lovely shop with fair prices. Jennifer is kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We tried multiple bicycles to find a size that fit me. When the bicycle i wanted wasn’t in store assembled, they happily ordered one and once it was assembled i got a text to stop back in and make the purchase. Same price as you would get online or anywhere else, the awesome feel of shopping locally with the great prices people find online, an absolute platinum level attribute this store carries. As i rode around town the last few days i realized things like “oh i need a kit to fix flats and a pump” stopped in looked over what they had, for the most reasonable price a flat repair kit with a spare tire. It was assembled onto my bike while we chatted. I got a kickstand today and talked with Rick about what locks he thinks are the best. All around i would rate this store a 13/10. Even if you live 45 minutes to 1 hour away and are an experience cyclist or someone looking to get back into it after a long hiatus - make the trip. If you value an informed down to earth distributor with stellar products, get off google reviews and punch the address into google maps. Go check out Jay’s Cycles and see for yourself.

If I were to rate this shop, I would give it 200/100! I really wish I lived closer to the shop. The rear tire of my e-bike got a flat, and they did their best to repair it for me. It had to be fixed a couple more times later, but their attitude was excellent, and they were very professional throughout, even though they mainly deal with regular bicycles rather than e-bikes. I really love this shop!! And repairs are amazingly quick…..

I have been in Jay’s store for over ten years and I have always been impressed with the service. They would discourage me from buying anything I don’t need. Rich is an excellent mechanic and I have enjoyed many miles on bikes bought and serviced there. Great shop and great people!

I had the same experience as someone else reviewing here. I stopped by for a simple repair and stood at the counter for fifteen minutes while the owner was right there on the other side, yammering away with someone on the phone without even acknowledging me. For 15 minutes. Finally I left and went to Kopp's, where they no only pay attention to the customers who walk in they know what they're doing. 2.5 stars. Nice shop and people however there are some concerns. I'm really not a huge fan of leaving my $2000 bike outside the store in a place with a lot of foot traffic. Also I never leave my bike outside where it can get wet and rained on. The price of the standard service was decent but not great. What I really was not impressed about was the fact the part of the price of the service includes the polishing of the frame. For $125 you would expect they would do that as advertised. My frame was not polished and if it was it was not we'll. There's clay from 6 mile all over the frame still which is not hard to remove at all. It's not a huge deal but at that price you expect to get everything you paid for done well. It kind of makes me question if they put that same effort into the other areas of the repair. I will give them another chance but not super impressed so far. After quite some time it's disappointing not to hear any response from this shop. It would be nice to hear reassurance of how they can keep people bikes safe outdoors from theft and damage. It would also be nice to know why frame polishing is part of what you pay for if it's not provided. Disappointing to feel like you can't bring your bike to a local shop because of a lack of trust and a lack of communication with their customers.
