My 4 year old started on a pello balance bike at 1.5 (which has now been passed down to her little sister) and has since moved up to a romper. It’s been such a wonderful and confidence building experience for her. One day a month or so ago she asked to ride her pedal bike with her pedals on and it took her 2 tries to get it on her own. This is due in part to her focus, but also to bike itself. It’s comfortable, lightweight but substantial and designed for her little frame. We haven’t had to be in touch with customer service much but when we wanted to change the color on a pre-order they were so kind and accommodating. It works well on and off road - we’ve taken her to bike down some gravel paths and she has handled it like a pro. She loves the independence and freedom she steals from being able to bike faster than we can walk and is well on her way to building a lifelong love for it. Thanks for a great experience!

This being our second Pello, I feel like we've had a chance to get well acquainted with the brand (and the owner's commitment to it). Shane does extensive research into the components he chooses, and the geometry of the bikes he builds. We started out with the Reddi 20" as my son's first "real" bike when he was five and put it through the ringer on streets, trails, and bike paths over the course of two years and it held up beautifully. Never had to replace a single part, and when we sold it to upgrade to the Reyes 24" it held its value! Now over two years into owning the Reyes, we just now got to the point of needing a chain replacement -- that was it. No other upgrades from the stock components necessary, even for riding the local trails. I can't recommend the brand highly enough, and I see them around town being ridden by the kids of other families as well. Everyone seems to agree that they're excellent bikes, and even if priced a little higher than the big-box alternatives, we strongly believe we have gotten more than our money's worth out of them.

Pello made a special rush to deliver a Rover just in time for my son's fifth birthday, which was a huge smash. He has been riding it on trails in the PacNW ever since. The geometry, low weight and especially the disk brakes make it super easy for him to handle gnarly MTB terrain.

We purchased our first Pello when our daughter was young and so was this company. That bike was amazing, and my son is now learning to ride it, these things are great bikes, but proportioned correctly for kids. Several years later or daughter outgrew that frame size, and they gave us a returning customer discount on the next size up, it has some upgrades from the previous style (their bikes now have disc brakes etc) but still outstanding components and another phenomenal bike. It is on the hook in the garage for the next generation, still in great shape. These things are amazing, super happy customer and can't recommend highly enough. I wish they made adult bikes, great component selection by their team for each frame size.

I purchased a Pello for my 4 year old son. Not only is the quality amazing for a first “real” bike…it’s amazing for a bike period. I wanted to make sure his younger brother would be able to enjoy it as well once he outgrew it. The components and materials are grade A. I was able to secure a prior model year that arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Assembly was easy just be sure to reinspect all bolts after riding for a bit. I highly recommend this company.
