I first walked in to Ponderosa Cyclery in 2014 (I think?). Since then some things have changed about the business: a new location, different staff, and more brands being offered. There is one thing that has not changed over the last decade though: Vince and Ponderosa Cyclery are the preeminent authority on all things cycling related in Omaha and beyond. Need maintenance or repair? Ponderosa has got you covered. Passing through town and want an idea for the perfect cycling route (road, gravel, mountain bike, etc.)? Vince is your guy. Ponderosa is everything a local bike shop should be - friendly, knowledgable, passionate, and dedicated to growing a cycling scene. If it's 105 in August, Vince rides his bike to work. If it's 5 degrees in February, Vince rides his bike to work. I'm a believer in supporting those who are committed to turning their life's passion into their life's work. Vince and the Ponderosa team embody this. Buy your bike from Ponderosa. Get your bikes serviced at Ponderosa. They are top notch at what they do, and they are the leaders of advancing cycling in general in Omaha.

Great bike shop. They were welcoming, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They got me back on the road. I hope to return there for all my biking needs in future.

Just picked up a salsa beargrease and a surly ice cream truck. Super easy to work with Vince. Help the wife make a decision since she never had a bike before. Have a decent selection in the store but can get bike you want in short order. I knew what I wanted so I didn't put the shop through the paces trying a bunch of bikes. I did like the easy-going atmosphere. Competitive pricing. Looking forward to spending more time there.

I had been working with the crew at Ponderosa over the past month or so, trying to decide what bike was most suitable for me. I've been into MTB for a few years now and didn't know much when it came to the gravel, touring, bikepacking realm. The entire crew was helpful in answering my questions and giving their professional insight while not being over-bearing and still letting you make the best informed decision for myself. I tested multiple different bikes in multiple different sizes, tweaking things here and there. Not once did Vince or the crew hesitate to let me ride a different size or swap out components. They actually encouraged it to help make a more informed decision on my part. 3 1/2 weeks later, I walked out of there with a bada** Surly Wednesday! They also have the sweetest dog(& cat, not pictured) in the shop!

Great bike shop. Kind, knowledgeable staff, a shop dog and shop cat if you are lucky! From new bikes, to tuneups, accessories, or advice, Omaha is lucky to have such passionate people sharing their expertise on cycling, camping, and being thoughtful about your needs in the process.
