Ridge Cyclery Introduce

Ridge Cyclery, located at 3731 Ridge Rd #2092, Highland, IN 46322, is a locally owned bike shop offering bicycle repairs, parts, and sales. You can reach them at (219) 923-2555 or +1 219-923-2555.

Ridge Cyclery is one of the few locally owned bike shops in the area, offering an alternative to larger corporate retailers. However, customer reviews indicate mixed experiences with the shop's service and engagement.

One customer reported a negative experience, stating that they were met with an unhelpful and impolite staff member who refused to look at their ebike for derailleur adjustments. They also noted a lack of knowledge regarding tire inserts and felt the staff member was dismissive and unhelpful. They expressed strong dissatisfaction and stated they would not return.

Another customer provided a more nuanced review, describing the shop as a "diamond in the rough" with potential for growth. They appreciated the locally owned aspect and mentioned purchasing various parts and bikes, including a pre-owned fixed gear/single speed bike and a child's Fuji bike. However, they also noted a lack of engagement from the owner, particularly regarding vintage bike parts, and felt the shop could benefit from a more passionate and enthusiastic approach.

While Ridge Cyclery offers a locally owned alternative for bike services and parts, potential customers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding customer service and engagement. The shop offers potential for growth, particularly in terms of customer interaction and service quality.

Potential customers may wish to contact the shop directly to inquire about specific services or parts and assess the current customer service experience. It is also advisable to consider alternative bike shops in the area for comparison.

Went there one time to see if they could adjust the derailer on my ebike. A young, tall guy, didn't get his name, only one there, wouldn't even look at it. Not very polite. I was trying to find out a few things about what they sell and dude had an attitude. I was trying to remember the name of these inserts that placed inside the tire that adds thickness to eliminate flats but couldn't think of the name. The guy got very ignorant, cut me off and told me that those weren't insert and showed me these thin rubber things that go over the rim to cover the heads of the spokes. Then he told me to go to the other bike shop where they sell them. He got a very bad attitude for some reason when all I did was asked if he sold a certain product that another bike shop sold. I'll never go back and will tell everyone how ignorant the guy is. What a jerk! I'm forced to give 1 star. I wouldn't give any stars if I didn't have to. that shop is horrible.

The shop is a diamond in the rough. It has all the hallmarks of being a phenomenal shop, mostly it is one of two locally owned bike shops. Which makes it an interesting proposition. You have Ridge and Greenway. That's it. You have two other mega corporate brands to purchase from, if that is your sort of thing, it isn't mine. It's a shop trapped in time. It has ultimate potential for growth if it wanted to. I've purchased a bunch of random parts needed for my bikes, but I will say, I know he has some parts for my 1973 Schwinn, but the owner has not really engaged much with me about it. If he has Vintage bikes in boxes, I know he has parts that would suit my Continental well. I've even purchased a pre-owned Fixed Gear/Single Speed bike, along with a child's Fuji Bike for my son. I travel to a lot of other bike shops, the day I stopped in to buy some cycling kit it was my 5th Bike Shop of the day. In other shops, you can feel the passion and excitement for the industry and the sport. I must say I want get on board with telling people about the great experience they will have coming to this shop. The service is good, but not memorable, what is memorable is how much potential this place has, but isn't really driving home how amazing they can be. Tap into being great!

Kurt went above and beyond by fixing the bike crank on my bike that I’m using to get to work and from work. I can pedal very smoothly. I highly recommend him. Thanks Kurt for working on this Schwinn bike. God Bless you sir.

I took my bike to get tuned up here and very paid a fair price. The bike mechanic is awesome and not only helped me with the problems of my bike but educated me aswell.

I have always had bad experiences with the staff and owner of this shop but after several years I decided to give it another chance so I went there to price tires for a cannondale cad3 road bike I just brought used I wanted a set of 700 23 tires the owner tells me don’t nobody ride with those anymore then he tries to sell me another tire when asked pricing for a set of chrome wheels he started quoting $500 and up.This guy has no people skills and is a racist. It’s the closest bike shop in our community but I refused to give my money to a person like that.
