Concerns were raised regarding loud noises prior to the fire, prompting calls for investigation. This recent event is a major concern.

Prior to the fire, customer reviews highlighted positive experiences. One customer praised the shop's service, noting that a mechanic efficiently adjusted their steering and identified a fork issue, without charging for the minor adjustment. The customer appreciated the referral to another shop for the fork repair.

The shop's location near a bike path was also noted as a convenience.

These reviews present a mixed picture. While The Bike Stop previously provided helpful bike repair and service, the recent fire incident raises serious concerns about the shop's current status and safety. Potential customers should be aware of this incident and proceed with caution.

The bike shop is on fire and I am worried. The Arlington and Medford fire departments came. They've aimed heavy water at the shop from the front and back for about 40min now and the fire does not look any better. My neighbor says that rubber tires can burn for a long time. I live right behind the shop and took these pictures from the back steps of my apartment building. It's been a weird night, loud chainsaw and hammer noises around 11:30pm when I went to bed. Fire smoke smells starting from 11pm, but I looked around outside and it looked fine, and sometimes it will smell like a bonfire, so I didn't think too much of it. Firetrucks came at midnight. I hope it wasn't arson. But the loud chainsaw and hammer noises coming from that direction (my apt windows do not face the bike shop) so late at night are very odd and unusual... Someone please investigate this.

Awesome built shop. I stopped in to get my steering/stem looked at since I had been having steering issues. The mech took a look, and got it adjusted plus pointed out an issue with my front fork. Nice dude and didn't charge me since it was a really small adjustment and the shop doesn't work on my style fork. Recommended another good shop that I'll ask for help with the fork. It's also right off the bike path which is super convenient! Definitely stop by if you have any issues with your bike and want it checked out.

This afternoon, I was biking from Alewife to Lexington on Minuteman bike trail and I stopped by the Bike Stop to fill my tires with air, and I found out that I needed a tube for one of my bike's tires, but I did not have my wallet or money with me. The option was to walk back home for about 4 miles. The staff who was there replaced the tube, filled my tires with air and told me I can pay him next time I come that was. I was very grateful and very touched that such honest and trusting business people are still around. I shared the story with my kids and they said to me you should go tomorrow and pay him. I told them I will bike next weekend and do that. I want to say Thank you !!! to Bike Stop; great people with great service.

Took my bike here for what I thought would be a simple repair. Turned out the problem was connected with work I'd had done on the bike at another shop, so I ended taking it back there to be fixed. Brian was extremely kind and patient; he explained in detail what he thought the problem was, and the pros and cons of taking it back to the original place to be fixed. He refused to take any money for the time he'd spent looking at it. I'd definitely go back to The Bike Stop in the future!

First time going in there for a loosen/stuck kickstand. I was told by another bike shop that it would need a power tool to get it out and the total cost would come to $75 including installing the new one. I decided to shop around and came to try my luck. The guy took a look and took the bike inside and maybe after a 10 minute wait, my bike came out with a new kickstand and it only cost me $14. What a pleasant surprise! Will come back again for any other issues.
