02/22/25 Update. Got to pop in today, after not making it in for a couple years. Bought a new stem, handlebar tape, and talked shop. This place is amazing. I’ve been to over 20 bike shops, and this is by far and away the best. Love the guys, love the shop. I'd leave more stars for these guys if I could. This shop is my favorite in the Chicago Metro Area. Luke & Dave are phenomenal, it's like going to an old school barbershop. It has a real culture, a real history and its own unique energy. I have to take the day off to make it out to the shop because I travel from NWI to get here. It's one thing to look at products online, also, it's another to go to shop and they say "I will have to order it". Here you can grab wheels, handle bars, stems, etc...They more than likely HAVE IT. Luke & Dave are a treat to deal with, you can come in, buy a pre-owned bike, or a professional LOOK and they will give the same service. I bought my bike stand from them, saddle, 40cm handlebars vs the 46cm handlebars that were on it, handle bar tape, stem, tires, bike lights, and most recently a set of Boyd gravel wheels and Panaracer Gravelking SK tires. If you know a lot, or a little about bikes, come here first. They are passionate about cycling, cycling history, tires, and genuinely fun guys to spend money with. Also, ask the boys about 46cm handle bars I gifted them to the shop because, I can't think of anyone who should have them more hahaha. It's worth taking time off of work to come learn from them and talk shop. Panaracer Tires are king! Thanks guys, look forward to giving you more play money and sending you business!

What a great shop! Fixed my mountain bike up by adding new handlebars, replacing two tires that kept deflating, and verifying brakes were good all in an hour. Priced very fair and both workers are very nice. Highest recommendation based on my experience.

What a great first time experience! I was referred by a friend to come here. I have a 2014 Giant Revel 3. Ever since I bought this bike, I’ve had issues with the crank. When I was dropping off my bike I also noticed that the back wheel had a little shake to it and thought nothing of it. When I was in the shop, I explained to one of the guys the problem with the crank. When I picked up my bike, he informed me that the rear wheel axel was cracked and had to be replaced. So along with the replacement of the crank hub, and I asked them to also adjust the gears and the brakes, it rides like it never did before! Thanks TGLBS!

Please avoid this shop if you are new to bicycling. I called the shop to schedule a bike tune up and to ask about getting fitted for my new (used) bike. The man who answered the phone pointed out that my bike is a hybrid, meaning that it's already designed for comfort. I tried to explain that I'd been experiencing knee pain, but was cut off and overtalked by the man who said over and over, "your seat is too low." I explained that I already raised my seat and still felt like something was off, but he was dismissive and said again louder this time, "your seat is too low!" I told him that I did not appreciate the patronizing tone he was using to which he laughed out loud and hung up on me. I am 47 years old and am getting back into biking after years of feeling too intimidated to try. My dad died last year from complications he suffered after an accident on his bike (hit by a car). He was a triathlete who spent most of his life in love with cycling. I took up riding my bike as a way to improve my health, to find community, and in honor of my dad. I am absolutely mortified at the way this person treated me. After my experience calling the little bike shop, I took a drive to Milwaukee to have my sister's friend (who owns a bike shop there) help me get set up correctly on my bike. Turns out my bike seat needed tightening (was slowly lowering as I rode, causing my knees to scream) and my handlebars needed adjusting to get me in a better overall position. I got tons of advice and support, and also finally got the tune up I'd needed. I'm not sure why my money wasn't good enough for this shop, or why my concerns were dismissed and laughed at. I can only assume it's because I don't ride an expensive carbon frame $10k bike or speak like a gatekeeping cyclist douche bag. I'm very sad and disappointed that someone who presumably is an expert cyclist would treat someone new at the sport so abhorrently. I'm not sure how you stay in business if your model includes alienating customers who can afford to pay for services, but who you deem unworthy of respect and dignity.

Heard great things about the owners and gave the place a visit. They went above and beyond, got my bike tire replaced here. It popped out after the first ride cause of too much air inside. But they put it back no extra charge. Their prices are very reasonable and they stand behind their work.
