I just bought my new bike at Alameda Bicycle and they were really great! Jack helped me narrow down my needs to a couple different models and figure out the size. I rode four different bikes to home in on the right one and that was no problem. I chose an All City Gorilla Monsoon and I love it already! Everyone there is enthusiastic about bikes and riding. I'm more interested in the non-competitive side of riding. There is no elitist, exclusive vibe to this shop at all. I'm sure they have the expertise to serve any rider. Their prices, selection and service are excellent. Please support your local bike shop!

Very kind, knowledgeable, and patient staff. Have done top quality service with quick turn around each time I’ve taken my bicycle in (around four or five times now). Also did a bike fit with George which was super helpful. Highly recommend these good folks!

Amazing customer service from the team here at Alameda Bicycle. I had been looking for a Surly Bridge Club to check out in person for a while and from the moment I called the shop to inquire they were incredibly receptive and helpful. At the shop there was a large variety of Surly bikes in stock in various sizes. Larry and the team helped me in picking out a sweet set of Turquoise pedals and grips to complement the color of the frame. The shop also had a large variety of bags and racks in stock and I rolled of the shop with my dream bike, rack installed, new bag secured, and a smile on my face. Check out Alameda Bicycle! You won’t be disappointed.

Second bad experience with these guys, and I'm out. The guys at Cycle City are night-and-day better, more communicative, and more respectful. Highly recommend them over this place. I went in there today because my Giant bike frame snapped in half during an accident the other day. I'm still quite the sight - neck brace, scrapes all over my face - and Giant directs you to an authorized retailer to answer any questions rather through any direct communication with them. And I had a few: 1. Is it common for a carbon fiber frame to snap in half? Mine is 15 years old, so I wasn't exactly looking for a warranty claim, but I didn't know if the manufacturer would be interested in seeing the damage? Do they keep data on points of failure? Is there anything I should do to report it? 2. What should I do (if anything)? Just throw it away? When I walked in, the mechanics looked at me a little skeptically, one said "how are you?" but quickly walked away to let a more senior team member handle it. From the beginning, the guy didn't seek to understand what I was there for. He instantly told me there was likely cracking/damage to the frame but there'd be no way to prove it, went into detail about how a repair shop would have probably found it before it happened if there was a sound or something. I found his tone smug and standoffish with a tiny hint of defensivness. Felt like he was treating me like somebody trying to scam them or something, to capitalize on an accident, maybe. Never once expressed any attempts at human connection, despite the guy standing before him with a broken bike, busted up face and a cervical-collar neckbrace. He did the whole, "I just don't really understand your question" thing, so I said "it's really a simple question. What would you do if you were me? Would you tell Giant or just throw it away?" "It's really not a simple question, there are a lot of facets and I'm trying to figure out if your angle is for a warranty claim?" I was there with curiosity about 1) how things like this happen - it's my first bike crash and the first time my frame snapped in half, and 2) what, if anything, I should do with the manufacturer about it. I was also there as a guy who commutes everyday on a bicycle that now is...lacking the bicycle and firmly in the market for a new one. He treated me like a scam artist. I called him out on it and he followed me to the car, saying he's sorry he "hurt my feelings." Just can't recommend these guys. Smug, condescending, dismissive. There are much better places to go if you want to be treated like a human.

These guys are great! The bike market has been insane during the pandemic, I looked for a gravel bike for over a year. I've put my name on waitlists everywhere and they are the only shop you checked in with me and responded when they got stock. I was able to text with them and ask questions till one I liked came in. I finally picked up my bike yesterday and it's a fantastic fit for me. Their customer service was impeccable. Not only did they make me feel comfortable COVID safety wise, they helped me determine if it was a good fit with no pressure. George was fantastic- knowledgable and friendly, he helped me pick out the right locks and accessories so Im ready to go again. Never pressured me to buy anything, just made sure I had my needs met. Multiple team even members thanked me for being patient for so long and explained why there's such a wait for the bike type I wanted. Add in maintenance and warranty for life and the warm welcome to their family and it was a stellar experience start to finish. Can't recommend them enough.
