I highly recommend Bootlegger bikes. Matt has a deep knowledge and true passion for cycling. I recently had him build a gravel bike for me. Matt was very attentive and prompt with my many changes ( As the build was going along I kept adding and swapping parts ). I wanted to build a 1 x12 gravel bike with a wide range rear cassette ( 10-52 ). The parts I suggested were good but Matt suggested other options that he knew performed better from his vast experience. He seemed as excited as I was for this bike build. I can't be happier with my bike. I wanted a boutique frame and parts and that's exactly what I got. I would have went even more wild but my budget was maxed out. Whether you want a custom boutique bike or an off the shelf ready to go bike they have you covered. Thanks Matt! Can't wait to join you guys on a Thursday group ride. -Ed

It is such a pleasure working with Matt and his team at Bootlegger Bikes. He is so knowledgeable about all things cycling. We most recently purchased a kids bike from Bootlegger. We weren’t quite sure what our son needed but Matt took one look and knew what to recommend and had it in stock ready to go. Tremendous local bike shop.

I almost made the mistake of buying a bike online direct from a manufacturer. I was worried about how the bike would fit and feel and was nervous about dropping big bucks for something I’d never been able to throw a leg over. I called Matt to get his recommendation and was able to meet with him to discuss the multitude of options that exist when considering a new bike. He took the time to answer all of my questions and took measurements to make sure we’d have the fit dialed in. I picked up my new bike yesterday and could not be happier with it and my experience from start to finish with Matt and John @Bootleggers. I’ve also been using the shop to maintain my bikes for years and they always take great care and perform excellent work. I highly recommend them if you are looking to purchase a bike, want to upgrade your current ride and/or for maintenance, you will not be disappointed.

Where do I start? I bought my first bike off Matt many years ago and slowly turned it into the bike that I wanted as I learned why I wanted out of a bike. This time around I had a pretty good idea what I wanted my bike to look like components wise. The only issue was this wasn’t going to be cheap and Matt was stoked to build it one piece at a time unfortunately unlike the Johny Cash song it was going to cost a bit more then a dime. So with Matt’s patience and my back and forth decision making skills over the course of a few months the War Pig was born. Matt and John’s wealth of knowledge was such a great tool for bouncing ideas around. I never felt any pressure at all to spend more money then I needed, they were always super open about price points and when it was or was not necessary to spend extra money. Build break down. Frame- Wilde Supertramp Drivetrain- Custom Rohloff internal gear hub Wheels- Astral hoops hand built Front hub- Sun Dynamo Cranks set- White Industries R30 Crank Brakes- Paul Klampers Brake Levers- Paul Bar- Soma Dream High Rise bar Etc…

About 30 miles into a ride, I blew out a spoke just as we reached Jeffersonville. Luckily, it happened 200 yards away from Bootleggers. They helped me out big time - replaced the spoke, trued my wheel and got my back on the road in time to catch back up to my group (albeit with a bit of redlining over the Notch). The store is also well stocked with all the essentials, and prices are very reasonable. A huge thanks again for saving my day/ride ! 🤘
