I’d originally chosen Earl’s for my SRAM Force AXS rebuild because they were the only shop I called that suggested I bring the bike in to look at so they could give me an accurate estimate. It was only after I’d driven the 1.5 hours up to Burlington that they told me they charge $40 for this assessment. I payed the $40 and waited while they spent close to an hour disassembling and reassembling my drive train. Once finished, they reviewed the parts I needed and told me they’d call once they were in so I could bring back the bike for the rebuild. As I arrived home later that day they called to tell me I had to spend an additional $100 on a new bottom bracket they discovered I needed. I contended that this discovery should have been made during the $40 assessment I paid for. They claimed these things happen, but agreed to credit me the $40 assessment fee. Several weeks later I picked up the bike. Before paying, I test rode it and discovered that neither the front nor the rear mech was adjusted correctly—the chain was rubbing up front & skipping shifts in the back. The mechanic on site (not the one that did the original work) got it shifting correctly. On my first ride the next day the front derailleur consistently threw the chain. When I went to adjust the limit screw, I found that the cage had been positioned a half inch too high above the big ring. It took me a little longer to adjust than it would have if they had included the red plastic adjustment tool that should have come with the derailleur. While repositioning it, I noticed they’d used a Shimano rather than a SRAM derailleur clamp. I will go elsewhere the next time I need my bike worked on.

Earl's is an excellent local business. I've worked mostly with James who I have had a really great experience with and have a high level of confidence in! I have purchased (3) bikes from Earls over the years, (2) most recently from James. I have always found their team to be very knowledgeable, experienced, and thorough. All the 'sales' are no pressure, the crew at Earls truly cares about finding the right bike for you, your needs and wants, and what fits within your budget. Keep business local and go to Earl's!

I dropped off my bike last week to have serviced, a new kickstand put on and adjust my brakes. The service person who helped me was great, courteous, helpful and didn't try to up-sell me on more services, just gave me what I needed which was so appreciated. Then I picked up my bike this past Sunday and was helped by a really nice guy who had some facial bruises and scrapes, when I inquired about what happened he told me and needless to say it made me laugh, just glad he's OK. He also went over and above in helping me put my bike on my car rack. All your guys there are awesome so don't change a thing!! Thank you! Roy Skorstad Essex Jct. VT

Santa’s Helpers, as Earl’s is known for being an excellent area business they also work closely with Santa Clause. I ordered a Trek Townie bike for my wife directly from Trek shipped to Earl’s where they assembled and delivered the bike just in time for Christmas. There were some challenging logistics but Joe the owner and Nate were able to overcome these challenges and give me the peace of mind that everything would fall into place. I just wanted to say thank you and highly recommend Earl’s for any bike or fitness equipment purchases and or service. Absolutely the best and on Christmas morning my wife experienced the magic of Christmas!

I was in Burlington for a few days and having issues with my mountain bike. Zack was able to take a quick look, diagnose the problem while explaining what he was doing for my benefit so that I might be able to troubleshoot it in the future, and fix my bike in short order. He then went on to give me some great advice on local trails. I was very satisfied with the experience. I had a great time checking out the area and wish this was my local bike shop!
