Very dependable, great culture, staff makes you feel like a valued customer throughout and they do great work. Good communication on the status of the work order and fast service. It sucks having to get a bike fixed but they make it better. Highly recommend

I’ve given this shop three chances, but I’ve only experienced unfavorable interactions. For those of you who can spend $15k on your bike and service, enjoy it! Unfortunately, the rest of us are treated like we don't matter. Each time I took my bike in, the staff was dismissive, and the service fees were as high as the cost of my bike. It feels like this shop caters only to privileged cyclists, leaving the general public behind. Based on my experiences in various cycling settings in DC, I’m considering seeking support in Virginia or Maryland, or even turning to YouTube for help. The cycling community here feels toxic and unwelcoming. If you’ve got $15k to spend, this might be the place for you; for the rest of us, it seems we need to look beyond the DMV.

Conte's is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! If you're looking for the #1 bike shop in the DMV, you've found it. Their customer service is unmatched by anyone else in the area. Chase, the new store manager, is especially amazing. Not only does he possess a wealth of knowledge on all things bicycles, he understands that the customers are the top priority. I have never experienced such professionalism and willingness to do right by the customer at any other bike shop. Chase gets it!! I am sending all of my friends and family to Conte's!

Was having some skipping in my cassette after trying to make adjustments on my own - came in for diagnosis thinking I needed a new cassette, but they spent 5 min making adjustments and every thing is working well. Tried to pay for shop time but they refused. Super helpful and will be back when I need anything else. Welp, the above happened about 6 months ago and I guess I never hit “post” because I went back in a minute ago for some help getting new tires seated and they got me squared away in less than a minute (after I’d struggled for hours at home) - super kind, super helpful.

I took my bike in for a annual tune-up. It was I'm rough shape and riding it wet, muddy conditions on the C&O towpath so I figured it was probably going to need some work beyond just the tune-up. The bike needed signifant parts replacement. It took a bit longer than I thought, and there were some hiccups with the messaging portal that contributed to confusion about it being done when it wasn't. Fortunately this was caught by Theo when I went in to pick it up and he made sure I didn't leave with the bike when the work was incomplete. I can sometimes be impatient with stuff like this, but Theo was super cool, and provided excellent customer service so I was less bothered than I would've been. The shop also made up for the confusion and delay in work, very much to my satisfaction The bike is probably in the best condition it's been since I bought it 3 years ago and after a few other tunes-ups. And they even followed-up, checking in with me to make sure there were no issues or concerns on my end. I really appreciated this extra step because I've gotten bikes back after work was done before and had issues with the repairs. It's also nice that they have different levels of tune-ups depending on your needs I'd definitely recommend Conte's for your bike maintenance.
