Cameron, Greg and Julian are really great and provide amazing customer service. I’ve taken 3 bikes here for service over the last few months and everyone here is very knowledgeable and I appreciate that they are not trying to nickel and dime, and are great at helping you find savings when feasible. Will continue to recommend and bring my bikes here and get supplies.

The Cathedral Heights location of Conte’s is top notch! I was looking for an e-bike, and Gregory and Nicholas were amazing in helping me to find the right option for me. They were super knowledgable about bikes - but also very welcoming, friendly, patient, and not pushy at all. I love biking, but often dread going into bike stores due to condescending/dismissive customer service. I had the complete opposite experience in this store and recommend it very highly. I have been to multiple bike shops around DC, and can confidently say that this store is an exception. Will definitely be back again in the future. 5 stars!

I recently visited Conte’s bike shop for service on my brakes and a tubeless installation. I was thoroughly disappointed. While the front-of-house guy (Gary, I think?) was warm and accommodating, the mechanics were another story. After Gary ushered me to the back of the shop for service intake, I had to wait about twenty minutes to speak to a mechanic. While one appeared at the desk after about ten minutes, he spent the next ten typing and did not address me. When he did, he tried to upsell me repeat on services I did not need, and that my bike (a belt drive) couldn’t even receive, like derailleur service. I have worked as a bike mechanic in the past, and was insulted by his brazen dishonesty. Once he capitulated, he informed me that it would take about two weeks to complete the requisite services- brake cable replacement, adjustment, wheel truing, and cable installation. I wasn’t thrilled, but had already paid and couldn’t do anything about it. Two weeks later, I hadn’t received any messages or updates. I called Conte’s, and Gary told me that they had not yet started on my service. He assured me that they would begin the next day, and that I could pick it up that night. When I arrived to pick up the bike, I was presented with a bill significantly higher than I had already paid. The mechanics had replaced my brake pads- an irritating event, because they had specifically informed me that I did not need replacement brake pads. Once again, Gary was a saint, and agreed not to charge me the add-on once I showed him my original bill and confirmation. However, my bike was not rideable. My bike displayed an error message I’d never before seen, and I asked the mechanics to fix their error. Again, the mechanic was rude and dismissive. He initially refused to fix the error, but agreed once I showed them the error diagnostic from the manufacturer. Now, two weeks later, I am experiencing issues I’ve never before dealt with. My hubs appear damaged and loose, and my front and rear axles are repeatedly coming loose, despite repeat adjustment. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Conte’s. There are other great bike shops in the area, such as the Trek store in Georgetown, that offer better prices and service, and that have never caused issues on my bike post-fix. Gary is the one saving grace of this place- I wish he could work somewhere with better mechanics.

In my honest opinion, this shop is a joke and a rip off. Pre-warning, they don’t fix e-bikes that they don’t sell because they quote “don’t have the capacity/knowledge to fix them and don’t want to mess up the bike.” Anyways, I brought my bike in last month due to a few minor problems and they said it would take 2 weeks to fix. 2 weeks later and after many employees guaranteeing me it would be done in time, I arrive and turns out they hadn’t even touched the bike let alone ordered the parts they need for it. They said it would take another 2 weeks. So basically they hold your bike hostage for a month before even taking a look. Also, if you want to get a flat fixed, be prepared to spend upwards of $100. Or you could pay $10 to buy a new tube, save 2 weeks and do it yourself. Staff are kind and conversational though, that’s the only positive. Never going here again. Better to buy parts online and learn through YouTube videos.

Amazing service! I thought my bike might be beyond repair but David was able to fix it. I’m so glad to finally have a go-to bike shop with friendly people who really know what they’re doing.
