The entire staff here is incredibly kind, and knowledgeable! Isaiah helped me throughout the entire process and explained everything to me detail for detail. I had no knowledge about bikes and he spent a lot of time to make sure I understood everything and had no doubts or questions! If you’re looking to get your first bike or find a local shop for your needs I highly recommend Gotta Ride Bikes!

Rental bikes extraordinary. Variety of rental bikes—road, hybrid, mountain—to rent. Comes with a helmet and chain. The best part is that they had bike racks for cars to rent. We flew into San Antonio hoping to ride some of their rich bike trail system. This shop made it happen. The hybrid bikes had well lubricated chain, perfect gear shifts, spotless. Made the Salado Creek Greenway trail a special ride.

On my first visit to the was greeted and promptly provided service. They gave me free air service for one bike and replaced a tube and tire on another. All while I waited for 10 minutes. The service was perfect and the cost of the service was surprisingly very reasonable; almost too inexpensive! If I was a serious bike rider this would be my hangout of choice. The selection of high end bikes and more family oriented bikes and parts and accessories was amazing!

Was the reservation process easy? - YES Was the rental equipment in good working order? - YES Was the staff friendly and helpful? - YES. Everything was great - but I was most impressed by the staff. “Friendly” and “Helpful’ definitely describe Robert, Oscar, and Isiah (I think got those names right). I felt they all made an extra effort to be friendly and helpful - the bike, the ride (finding a nearby route to take), and Robert even helped me find a restaurant for lunch. I’m retired and I travel a lot and I almost always rent a bike everywhere I visit. The Gotta Ride Bikes crew is one of the best I’ve ever encountered.

Chris at Gotta Ride Bikes is awesome at his job! Great customer service and products! I haven’t rode a bike in like 25 years lol and so I started my research going to a couple stores in town that all just wanted to sell me a bike which you might say what’s wrong with that? They just kept saying try this one or that one. Well I didn’t know what I was doing at all and I needed guidance and education more than a bike at that point. Chris approached me in his store and I told him my reason for being there and instead of going right to a bike he started asking me questions, explained the differences between hybrid vs mountain, components, why this one costs way more than that one even though they look the same. He explained the industry and local markets in SA vs Austin, he’s very knowledgeable. We decided on a Kona bike but he didn’t have the size/color I wanted so he said he can order it, $875 plus $80 shipping. I went to the Kona website and found a 2022 model for $700 plus $60 shipping. I went back to the store and Chris’ colleague let me know I can order online and deliver to the store and they still get credit and full margin. Well turns out Kona got rid of the D2B and online is only D2C! I felt really bad as they lost their margin and still assembled my bike for me and were super chill about it. Of course I had to get gear so I just dropped ~$300 and they will be my bike store for as long as I live in town! They have a customer for life! Yes, it really is like riding a bike 🚲 😉
