Super happy these folks exist: they do good work at reasonable prices, and are an obliging, friendly group of skilled mechanics. We've had work done on our road bikes, folding bikes, and cargo bikes (we have a household bike problem) and the work has been consistently good. Happy to know that Pierre will be taking over this (legendary) shop after 42 years in business -- wow.

One of the best bike shops in the city. The knowledgeable and courteous staff there are always willing to explain and teach clients anything they would like to know about their bike(s) or future purchases. Prompt professional service and the staff there couldn't be more welcoming. I was helped out by Max for an E-Bike purchase and within minutes he made me feel comfortable about my choice and had pretty much explained all its functions from A to Z. I highly recommend Ferris Wheel for any bicycle or E-Bike purchases or repairs and from my experience, I'm sure you'll be highly satisfied with your choice to do so.

I had a tough job for them that had a few unexpected difficulties, got great customer service from Pierre and the rest of the staff. They were very generous with their pricing as well. Ferris wheels will definitely be my regular shop from now on

I recently moved to the area and was very excited to have a bike shop in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I will be looking elsewhere after having a difficult experience with pricing. (As a note, I went with the understanding and in support of the fact that the rates were higher because they were trying to pay the mechanics a living wage.) However, the quoting and final invoice process was very confusing, and the whole process left me feeling like they were trying to pull one over on me. First, the initial quote for the tune-up and extra work did not include the discounts that their website specified were included. It required a back and forth in the shop as well as a follow-up call to get it resolved. Second, they tried to charge me for the labor to remove and reinstall my casette after they realized it didn't need the work they thought it needed. This also required a few back and forths and I was lucky a kind mechanic stepped in to remove it from my final bill. Third, the equipment that was used ended up being a 100% mark-up from the initial quote, and I was never called to confirm this swap out. After talking with a staff person, I understand there was a bit of confusion on the back-end, but I still would have appreciated the courtesy of a heads-up rather than have it go unacknowledged until I raised the issue. I'm grateful they did comp me the difference, but it was done so a little begrudgingly and gave me a bad taste in my mouth. The whole transaction felt like a prolonged negotiation, and I can't imagine being in that situation if I didn't know much about bikes - felt like you could easily be taken advantage of if you weren't careful. I'm also a little frustrated that they missed a failing part that I personally think should have been caught in a tune-up (though I'll admit it could have failed the day I picked it up in a bad coincidence). The other basics of the tune-up seem to have been done well-enough, but the pricing sagas were too much for me. If I had to go back, I'd come prepared to really understand the work that's going to be done and track my receipts closely. I am, however, super grateful for the staff who helped resolve all of the issues and appreciate their kindness during those conversations.

Omg. Incredible customer service and selection, but let me really emphasize the customer service. I am a bike noob and I felt so comfortable here asking questions and not feeling dumb. The accessories are great too (Taco Bell!) and the prices are better than reasonable. I have a vintage schwinn breeze and they took very good care of her for her tube up. I grabbed a ulock and a bell to boot and was very happy with what I spent. Questions were asked about my lifestyle and how/where I would be locking my bike up. There were thoughts behind every answer from Jeff I think his name was. This is the perfect bike shop and I am so happy I came here
