It is important to note that customer reviews present a significantly mixed view of Martha's Bicycles & Fitness. Specifically:

  • Some customers have reported positive experiences with bike purchases, particularly with Trek bikes, and appreciate the willingness to accommodate size changes.
  • There are reports of satisfactory service for parts and wheel truing.
  • However, other customers have reported extremely negative experiences with customer service, alleging a lack of product knowledge and condescending treatment from the owner.
  • There are accusations of the shop not having necessary parts or understanding customer needs.
  • One reviewer, identifying as a master mechanic with 20+ years of experience, strongly advises against visiting the shop due to poor treatment and perceived incompetence.

Due to the conflicting and strongly worded negative customer experiences, potential customers are advised to exercise caution and consider these reviews thoroughly before engaging with Martha's Bicycles & Fitness. While some customers have had positive experiences, there are significant concerns about customer service and product knowledge that should be taken into account.

I had been in for parts and wheel trues over the years. More recently had a great experience buying a new Trek. Ordered the bike online with the owner, but I wasn’t happy with the size (I fall between a medium and large) after I had taken it home. They took the first bike back and ordered a large (and diff model) with no questions asked. Will definitely go back for my next bike.

Don’t waste your time going here. They won’t have what you need or know what you’re even asking for... Shop should have gone under years ago. Feel sorry for anyone that thinks this is how a bike shop should be run. Customer service is awful. Owner treats people like they are beneath him. Last I checked without customers small business’ can’t exist. Places like this make consumers like me, just want to order stuff online. And just an FYI, I worked at several shops for over 20 years and am a master mechanic. So to be treated like I knew nothing, when he had no idea who I was or what I was capable of is pretty presumptuous. There are plenty of better shops around. Buyer beware of these clowns.

I brought my son’s bike in for repair and they quoted me a week, week and a half service time. That was easily a week shorter than the fastest other quote. My seven year old was dismayed that he’d have to go so long without his bike, but I assured him the time would go by fast, a lie if anyone is familiar with seven year olds! What would you know? I got a text the very next day saying the bike was serviced and repaired! The work was done impeccably and the bike was cleaned to look brand new! Wonderful experience I highly recommend Martha’s

I have recently bought 3 bikes (in the past two months) from Martha's and have been very disappointed. I have had issues with the tires and have struggled to get support. What they did send me (and made me pay for) was the wrong size, despite them stating "this is the tire that the bike comes with" and when I called to complain, I was told they were too busy. So they are happy to sell you the bike, just don't count on their support to fix something when it goes wrong.

I brought my 1971 Schwinn Continental in for service. Their knowledge of the older Schwinn's was quite amazing. Everything was done correctly and efficiently. They will be tuning up my 1981 Schwinn Super Le Tour next.
