I purchased a fully suspended carbon Santa Cruz to replace my badly beaten Salsa that’s ridden practically every trail in Northern California. The bike is awesome, and Stu was an excellent salesperson who really listened to what I wanted. He also helped fit and sell my wife a new helmet. A few months after my purchase, I came back for some tubeless tire service, which went smoothly once again. The only hiccup was being asked for a deposit on a full-face helmet(they had to order it) I wanted to try—seemed a bit ham-handed given all the business I’d already done there. Despite that minor issue, I still highly recommend them.

I don’t typically write negative reviews, but I felt I needed to share my recent experience and give a heads up to others. I paid a premium for a full-service tune-up, specifically asking them to address my front brake, which was squeaking, adjust my derailleur, and dropper. After picking up my bike, I went on my first ride only to find that my front brakes didn’t work at all. I brought the bike back, and they admitted they forgot a step when addressing my front brake squeaking, which they then fixed. However, the brake still squeaks… and they did not adjust my dropper or derailleur. Then, after a ride at Boyne, I discovered my front thru axle wasn’t torqued down properly. Had this come loose while I was riding at 25+ mph on trails or the road, it could have led to an incredibly serious crash. I trusted the service department and assumed I wouldn’t need to double-check everything, but clearly, that wasn’t the case. While this shop is great for new bikes, parts, and clothing, I cannot recommend their service department. If you do use them for servicing, be sure to thoroughly inspect everything before riding.

I was looking for an unusual accessory for my MTB and called Aberdeen after speaking to a number of other shops in nearby Ann Arbor, MI. Kevin (the new owner) was very helpful and even had the part in stock. Only issue was…it was Monday and his store was closed. Kevin was just there catching up on paperwork and answered the phone when I called. I was 17 miles away but he assured me he’d be there for a while yet and would have the part ready if I drove out to Chelsea, so I did. When I arrived, he met me at the door and invited me into his closed shop. I bought the item I needed and was on my way home in about one minute. It couldn’t have been a more positive experience. Was in the area and stopped in to get an information for a local ride. This place is very nice. Looks like they do bike fitting and have a massive showroom. Kevin and Stu were super helpful in guiding me to some great gravel routes.
