Chris and the Service Department are outstanding! I have a recumbent trike. There are relatively few of these in the area. This shop has attuned its skills and adapted techniques to properly fully service the trike and also align the front tires. This was a major service after 10,000 miles. Further, their attitude was 150% Customer Service. I was running late on pick-up. Chris cheerfully waited 15 minutes past closing for me. Black Mountain Bicycles (BMB) is a fine local bike shop that truly cares about clients; BMB is a gem!

Did a bike fitting with Aaron. Awesome experience and super knowledgeable in explaining all the tweaks and mechanics to make a better riding experience. 10/10 recommend if you need a fitting. Happy customer!

I am a first time customer referred to BMB by a serious and avid road cyclist. I needed to resume distance riding to prepare for a 1100 mile charity ride. I had nil in equipment or knowledge to start my efforts. Ta Da, the service staff and Aaron groomed and fitted my classic (vintage 1985) bicycle for the journey. Yes, the popularity of this local shop can mean "deliberate" turnaround times. Yet you will be pleased when you get back on the saddle! Yes, cycling can be expensive. Yet you and I owe it to ourselves to be comfortable and SAFE. My top recommendation was fully earned! df

This shop is the best place for bike maintenance in all of San Diego. We have a MTB chat group in my neighborhood and whenever someone asks where to get service Chris at Black Mountain Bicycles is the guy. Cannot tell you how many times I’ve had a problem I or other shops couldn’t figure out and Chris figures it out just by looking at the bike.

Just called in to see if they do patch work. when told that they do not do patch work I asked if they may have the inner tube I need so I can have them replace it. I wasn’t sure what size so I was placed on hold while I took a look at my tire. I was on hold for 20-25 min before I hung up and tried to call again thinking they might be busy and forgot I was on the line. Immediately when I called back I was placed on hold again for 25-30 before they just hung up on me. So I would not recommend this shop to anyone out there these people conduct poor business and don’t seem to care about their potential customers. A simple call back would have been nice but that would be asking too much from such low class people running a mediocre business. Despicable.
